I have just clean installed Desktop UB1604LTS on a dual-core amd64 pc. It dual boots with Win 10.

Everything seems to work OK; but, if I leave it unattended for more than a few minutes, I return to find a black screen. Moving the mouse or pressing a key (which always recovered the screen on earlier versions) does nothing; and I am left with no means of escape except turning the power off to the PC.

As a temporary fix, I have set the screen only to go blank after one hour and disabled the lock (whatever that does)

Is there anything else I could try?

Thanks

That's pretty frustrating! It sounds like some kind of bug in the power management. I've seen that but don't recall how I resolved it. One thing I can think of is to go into the BIOS and see if there are options for power management. In the Intel world they're signified by S3, S5 and so on with S5 being a deeper sleep. I would try disabling deeper sleep. There might be other BIOS options for power management that might affect this.
