eze88; Hello ;

You are doing it the hard way . Even nvidia says do not do it on linux:

Note that many Linux distributions provide their own packages of the NVIDIA Linux Graphics Driver in the distribution's native package management format. This may interact better with the rest of your distribution's framework, and you may want to use this rather than NVIDIA's official package.

From the installed system terminal run:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall

the system will install the latest driver from the software repository :)

'buntu makes it easy

I did use the following command and though it update and run but certain files say it couldn't be fetch

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall

Also i'm not able to run "nvidia-smi" to check on the Nvdia driver version

It always display nvidia-smi couldn't be found

post back between code tags the outputs of terminal commands:

uname -r
lspci -nnk | grep -iA3 vga
dpkg -l | grep -i nvidia*
sudo lshw -C video
cat /var/log/gpu-manager.log
