As some of you know we've been plagued by wildfires in the Williams Lake area. This videos shows what it has been like here over the last 10 days.

Some of the provincial news outlets only show the spectacular clips, and not what it's really like. The video was shot by a local business owner, and at the end are scenes to the city evacuation on Saturday.

I remember travelling through Northern California a few years ago when they were having a lot of fires, the helicopters were coming in, filling up from the rivers, and away to the fires to dowse them.

Hope all is well and the fires are under control.

So sad to see such a beautiful country side in this manor...let alone the risk to the folks involved.:(
We also have seen some pretty bad fires here: http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/26/us/weather-west-wildfires/index.html
Best Wishes to all.

I'm staying at my brothers place in Merritt BC, which is semi-desert, and so far there aren't any fires even close. My employer has put me to work at our Merritt location, so at least I've got something to do instead of just sitting around waiting to be able to go home. It looks like it will be at least another week before things are safe enough to do that.
