Hi. I'm new to Linux and I am trying to install Ubuntu on a USB stick to use in an older computer. When I boot up and try to install I get stuck at Detecting file systems. In the installation process i partioned USB drive 15gb ext4 and 1gb swap. What am I doing wrong? Can I even use the USB with theinstallation files for installing on?

More information about what you have done and how you did it would probably help, but in the absence of that, when you try to install go to "Something Else" and you should then see your newly made partitions and be able to point to them.

Come back for more detail if you need to, and also look at the info at https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2230389
