Hi, i have a new Notebook: Asus Aspire ES1-533 (Win 10 pre-installed)
I'd like to install Ubuntu Desktop. (Live Modus works perfectly)
The problem is: It freezes always when the Grub2 Package should be installled.
I tried many things:
- Boot-Repair after broken installation
- Modified all possible options @ BIOS (also Secure Boot -> Disabled)
(Boot Mode -> UEFI cannot be modified)
- uses different versions
http://releases.ubuntu.com/16.04.2/ubuntu-16.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso
http://releases.ubuntu.com/zesty/ubuntu-17.04-desktop-amd64.iso
- deleted all partions using fdisk
- etc. etc.

Always Grub2 package is the reason to fail.
What can i do? My UseCase is the most simple one (New standalone installation, no dual boot) isn't it?
It can't be that complex to get rid of Microsoft?

Hello and welcome to the forums, Please tell us what version of Ubuntu are you trying to install?

You will also need to provide the specs for your machine it will help trouble shoot your issue. I'm not sure why you're linking to the Ubuntu ISO download file
