Hi all, I'm running Kubuntu 16.04 with plasma 5.8 from the Kubuntu backports PPA.
Recently I've been experiencing that dialog windows like "open", "save as" etcetera would just freeze until I kill the application. This doesn't let me do any of all sorts of things such as saving email attachments, opening files etcetera.
Affected applications include kontact, okular and openoffice among others.
Edit: Rebooting the system when this happens seems to mitigate the effect in that for a while dialogs still freeze in the beginning but then unfreeze and do their job.
Has anybody experienced this? How can I diagnose what's going on?

Funny enough, this happens on my work laptop with kubuntu and not on my personal laptop running debian testing, with the same plasma version.
