in unity there is a gear icon in the extreme top right the gives a menu with "About This Computer", "Ubuntu Help ...", "System Settings ...", "Lock/Switch Account ...", a series of up to 13 currently or previously logged in users to switch to, "Log Out ...", "Suspend", and "Shut Down ...". does anyone know what program handles the menu itself, in particular deciding what users to list? an issue i sometime run into is that the list of users radically changes. i am wondering if there is an easy way to fix, set, change, or expand this list.
