Hey guys. I'm hoping you can help. I just installed 16.04 LTS and when I boot it up, I log in and get to the desktop, but the keyboard completely seizes up and, while the mouse cursor is visible and moves, the buttons(clicking) are unresponsive. I can't figure out what's causing it. It also takes a long time for the purple background image(the one at eh log in screen) to load.

My specs:

Fresh install(wiped out windows 10)

CPU: AMD FX-4100 quad core 3.6 GHz processor
Video: GeForce GTX 460 v2
RAM: 8GB

As I said it is Ubuntu version 16.04 LTS downloaded and burned to disk via the ubuntu site

If you select "Advanced Options" in the initial Grub menu what are the options?

Trying to see if we can get you running on a different kernel config ...

If so -- then updating your system's kernel from the ISO's install may be the trick.

I have 4.8.0-36 generic
The same but with upstart in parenthesis
And the same with recovery mode

Edit: I got in by booting through recovery. Updating my GeForce 460 driver seems to have fixed it. Thanks Xian!
