I have a few old harddrives gathering dust in closet. My desktop has room for few more to accommodate (and adequate power supply as well).
The thing is they are small capacity relatively speaking. And I am looking for a way to consolidate all those mounts / drives into one single entry point.
While looking around, I found references to "mhddfs".
Anyone has experience with it? Any comments?
I just want to store some media on the drives.

Here is the link to page for mhddfs:

-not sure external links are allowed, if not I will remove it.

If you have better idea (no RAID please) let me know.

LVM. Use lvm. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lvm This is what the professionals use and there are very good reasons why.

Make certain you have excellent backups, however. Old disks are always about to fail. Don't be surprised with they actually do fail and data is lost. Actually, all storage is about to fail. That is what storage is.
