I updated 4 machines to 17.04 and three of them loop back to the login screen about 5 seconds after I type in the password. The one that doesn't is the one I'm typing on and it's using ubuntu mate (also updated to 17.04)
I was running gdm on the other three. I tried switching to gdm3, unity and lightdm without success. I also deleted the nvidia driver, tried it and then installed it again with no effect.
Any help would be appreciated as on of the units is a web server with many sites on it...
