The screen freezes, the mouse does nothing, the keyboard freezes. I wait 10 or so minutes. It comes back to life again.

I have been looking for solutions.

Here is one: http://bit.ly/2o73Paf

Is the intel adjustment to the grub unsuitable for me because I am running an AMD cpu on an ASROCK FM2ABBX extreme6. My processor is amd a10-7800 radeon R7 ? I do not want to try it and see more problems. So I ask here for help.

I have about 30 gigs of memory installed and no shortage of space on the root or home partitions.

How can I find the cause of the freezes?

If you were running an Nvidia card, I would say the issue is the Nouveau driver but you aren't Mine does exactly the same thing when I run the Nouveau driver on any Ubuntu 16.04 version, unless I switch to the Nvidia driver. This page gives some info about the Radeon driver and also the open source version: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RadeonDriver so it may provide some help.
