Dear Team,
I have almost spent a week in resolving this still with no results. I want to dual boot my laptop with windows 8.1 pro and ubuntu-14.04.5 . My laptop is already installed with Windows 8.1 Pro, but when i tried installing ubuntu along side it is not showing the partitions properly. When i searched the answer for this , it was said some MBR or GPT Partion issues. I dont want to loose my data. I tried almost everything still with no solution. Finally decided to put in this forum with a hope of solution. I have attached all the screen shots like my OS details, My partition Details and step by step installation procedure , I want to install in "G" drive but that is not visible here in ubuntu. Please help me out.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Thread moved to the "Installation & Upgrades[ubuntu]" forum for a better fit.

No doubt Windows 8 is installed with UEFI, not BIOS, so you will need to install Ubuntu in the same manner to be able to dual boot the two OSs.
