Hey friends,
I made the mistake of purchasing an actual television as my third monitor, thinking it would be fine because my last output port was HDMI.
Quite often when I start my computer, the TV has automatically powered down and I forget to turn it on, which causes UbuntuStudio/XFCE4 to see it as unavailable, then auto reconfigure the monitor arrangement. I must then power on the TV and rearrange the monitor layout manually, each time.
Then of course, I can't actually turn any monitors off when I leave the room, or the same thing happens. So far I have to settle for a blank screen in the power settings, which probably does save a good amount of power, but still illuminates a little bit, wastes some energy, and is hard to sleep next to.
So what I'm hoping for is perhaps a way to automatically re-execute a saved monitor configuration whenever I do something like unlock the xsession screensaver, or turn on a monitor, or the monitors are reactivated via a mousemove/keyboard.
I hope that makes sense. Thank you for any advice!
