Newbie here. I've been running Mint for the last year but after problems with the Mint 18 upgrade I installed Lubuntu, ditching my Windows partition. The install crashed during the GRUB installation and now I have no BIOS, even through the Novo key, and a normal boot leaves me at the GRUB command line. I have booted from live USB and run boot-repair but still the same result.

The output from the failed install is here:

If I try to load the kernel and boot through grub I get several screens of output which I don't know how to save to file. It ends like this:

Would be grateful for some pointers.
