I have a Dell Precision m7710 laptop with two monitors connected. I'm running Kubuntu 16.10.

I'm having two issues at the moment:

First, the Display Configuration GUI won't allow me to set up my monitors correctly. On my desk, I have my screens arranged from left to right with the laptop on the left. However, I can't actually move the displays to those positions in the GUI. I can drag the displays around, but they can't leave the layout area and the size seems to be fixed at nearly 1/4 of the size of the layout area. As a result, the displays can't be arranged horizontally. The arrangement in the attached image works, and I'm using it now, but it isn't what I want.

Second, when I close my laptop's screen, the display configuration gets messed up. Not only does the laptop's monitor disappear, the monitor on DP-3 is disabled for some reason.
