Hello,

I want to find/create a program/script/patch for gnome-shell that locks all input and if someone touch mouse or hit any key on keyboard - it makes webcam photo and saves to somewhere on disk. But if a special password is entered - it unlocks screen. Actually, it would be fun to make 2-3 photos, and show them one by one on the screen. It also could just make a screenshot of active desktop and lock screen with this screenshot-as-a-screensaver.
But, i don't know where to look at. Is it possible to make a bash script? Or should it be a gnome-shell extension? Or something else?

Hope for help.

Hello and Welcome

You could use gnome-screenshot to make a wallpaper of an active desktop . As for the webcam idea , you would be using the screen lock utility ,cheese webcam application along with it's take photo/save option . I'm not saying it's impossible, but I would start by considering the applications and utilities required.
