Welcome. You don't install on Win 10, you install next to it. The first thing you are going to need is a slab of free space, as in unallocated space on the drive to create a couple of partitions for Ubuntu.

There are a few ways of going about installing Ubuntu, but that is where you are going to need to start. If you don't have empty space on the drive, you need to create some by booting into Win and using the Disk Management tool (from memory).

For more hints, there are hundreds of how-tos (https://duckduckgo.com/?q=install+ubuntu+alongside+win+10&t=ha&ia=web) out there about installing Ubuntu alongside Win 10. You might want to try digging around, do some research and get back to this thread with anything you don't understand.

You need to figure out if your machine is running in UEFI mode. If it came new with Windows 10 (or 8+) on in, it probably is. If you upgraded from Windows 7, it probably is not. Follow the instructions for which mode you are in, you should install Ubuntu in the same mode Windows 10 is in. For UEFI, see:

Or try this (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFI). You want 'Case when Ubuntu must be installed in UEFI mode'. If Win10 came pre-installed, it is UEFI. If you installed it manually, might be either.

Please give make and model of your machine. Some machines it slips right on. Others are a bit trickier but there are known workarounds.

Hello and welcome to the forum, This guide may also help with your installation https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/install-ubuntu-desktop please make sure you have a full understanding before you attempt to install Ubuntu on your machine alongside Windows, if done incorrectly you can and will, erase your entire Windows installation as well

Reading up on how this is accomplished is the best way to start, this is a great page to bookmark for information about using Ubuntu

And most importantly, make sure you have the recovery DVD that you are recommended to create when you first boot to Windows; without that available you could end up with a computer that will not boot to either OS.
