Hi

I'm trying to install Ubuntu 16.06 on a Fujitsu siemens esprimo mobile v5535. Before the installation process can even begin I get a problem with the screen. I see rows and rows of coloured lines that keep moving down (see image).

Any suggestion on how I can get round that?

Thanx

Liz

Hi, welcomw to the fora.

Some of the Esprimos had difficult graphics cards. I don't know if it applies to yours but anyway it would be interesting to see if Lubuntu 16.04.1 works better.

Thanks, mörgæs

I'll see if I can download and install Lubuntu. My internet connection is very slow and it will take a while to download the iso.

You will need a good connection not only for downloading but also for installation. Can you bring the computer to a place with better access?

Another option is waiting until 16.04.2 is released which is february 2. Using this there is less need for downloads after install.

I had a holiday planned and the internet there would be good, so I waited.
I installed the latest version of Lubuntu and that words fine. No problems whatsoever.
Thanks again!
