I am trying to install version 16.10 of Ubuntu from the Linux Format DVD218.

The mouse pointer is not attached to mouse. However, the invisible mouse is still able to click on things (I drag on the desktop and get a translucent box to see where I am :-s). It is very weird. This happens if I am using the Live DVD or the installed to Hard drive Ubuntu.

I have removed all the USB devices plugged into my machine, but no joy. I have defaulted my BIOS setting, no joy.

The thing is that the actual mouse works but it just leaves it pointer behind. It is a logitech combo wireless keyboard/touchpad. I have also tried a standard Microsoft mouse but I still have the same problem . I have also tried detaching the other drives from the system, for the sake of doing it. I have not removed the network adapter or the PCIe USB card. I have also tried plugging in to other USB ports. If there is any other information that is needed please ask. I removed the Nvida Graphis card and it works Okay but unfortunately I have another problem. I could not install the bootloader grub. It gave no reason apart from failing. I then went and installed the fedora on the drive with boot loader Okay. I wanted to stay with Ubuntu so I guess I'll have to write this again in another topic.
