Hey,

I've recently been looking at my linux box as a test platform for a linux gaming console. Of course the coding would all have to be done first hand for games to be runable, but the question that begs an answer is, has this been done before? Has a distro been created already for such a means?

In saying that, If I am to go ahead with this project, then a possible viability may be to develop games requiring only a keyboard, that way at startup a front end may be launched requiring only keyboard input rather than also having a mouse.

This kind of system could also be implemented in karaoke machine. The majority of Karaoke machines over here run on windows. And everyone loves Karaoke! So it could be the next thing to snatch from the clutches of Microsoft.

I believe there are no other distros that turn a computer into a games console in the manner you propose. Good luck in your endeavour!
