View Full Version : 16.04 - ssd with lvm over mdadm raid 5 - not trim

First, sorry! because my english isn't that good.
I install over tree ssd on mdadm raid5 and then lvm with no problems.
I read about this more before do the installation and I think (all I know is that I know nothing, ;)):
- mdadm support trim out of the box (with actuals kernels).
- lvm has issue_discards = 1.
But when fstrim one ext4 mounted lv partition: "fstrim: /: the discard operation is not supported".
I update the kernel to 4.8 too, for trying, with the same result.
This configuration is not supported? Needs some configuration?

Thanks in advance.
