I just installed 16.10 in a duel boot with Windows 10. New machine and I wanted to just be able to take a look at the new 10.

During the install the words in the dialog boxes where squared off and black and hard to read.

After booting into Ubuntu the text boxes were also hard to read. All of the text in the applications themselves were as they should be.

Here are a few pictures to look at. Any idea what needs to be done to correct this?

Thanks in advance. Bob.272921

Looks like a graphics driver problem. What graphics hardware have you got?

Go to software and updates -> extra divers. Maybe there are better drivers available for your hardware.

It's a brand new HP 17.3 inch machine. Is it possible that they used a graphics card that isn't supported with the current kernel?
If so how do I find this information?

I just did the search and it came up with nothing to use.
Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.
