Building my computer from components. CPU is AMD FX on an ASRock N68-GS4 motherboard. Not that that matters much.
I THINK I want to install 64 bit Ubuntu 14 or 16 - but my most important application is 32 bit and runs under Wine.
Older, retired machine, Ubuntu 12 - this worked.

Can I install 64 bit OS and run 32 bit Wine, or am I asking for trouble?

How often do you run the other app?
You can always dual boot.

Of install 32 bit in virtual install if you have lots of RAM.
