I searched the foruns but couldn't find much about ubuntu and beowulf together.

I'm starting a personal project to build a complete beowulf fromscratch using ubuntu 6 with the minimal external tools possible (ie. source installation and specially alien) and I think it'll be good to have a forun where to discuss such decisions, package creations, etc.

Can we have a section on the foruns about Beowulf clusters ?

thanks,

i don't know how many people would be joining you in your pursuit of a beowulf, which is why i would be surprised to see a forums section dedicated to a very niche interest.

sorry, but that's just my take.

Well, maybe ubuntu is just not for that, as I couldn't find many packages that are standard for the cluster community... maybe I should use Fedora instead.

I found that kloppix was really cool.

I think that using live cds for beowulf makes sense if you are actually going to be doing some super computing (like a flashmob), but if you are learning to set it all up it is probably not worth doing (too easy :P)
