I used startup disk creator to put ubuntu-16.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso onto a Transcend 8 GB JetFlash usb thumb drive. Then I tried to install it onto a system with an identical 8 GB usb thumb drive as its boot drive and got this message:

"You need at least 8.5 GB disk space to install Ubuntu.
This computer has only 8.1 GB."

Have the minimum system requirements changed from 16.04 to 16.04.1?

I have Previously installed 14.04 LTS and 16.04 LTS on this same system in the same way.

Sys:
Processor AMD Phenom II X4 B97 Processor x 4
Memory 7.8 GiB
Graphics Gallium 0.4 on NVE7
Storage 8 GB Transcend JetFlash usb thumb drive

According to the Ubuntu website this is the suggested requirements for running Ubuntu 16.04.1, can be found here: https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop you might be able to install a lighter distro but 8-GD of storage does not seem realistic to me for any distribution such as 16.04.1

As I stated above, "I have Previously installed 14.04 LTS and 16.04 LTS on this same system in the same way."

Step 4 of the Install Ubuntu 16.04 LTS web page (https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/install-ubuntu-desktop) also states "Ubuntu needs about 4.5 GB to install, so add a few extra GB to allow for your files."

Until now I have not had any promlems installing to this same 8GB usb thunb drive and it ran very well.

That is why I am wondering if the minimum requirements have changed between 16.04 LTS and 16.04.1 or did I find a bug in the distribution download.
