Hi all,

I am planning to install Ubuntu 16.04 onto my Intel based PC x86. From where i can download Intel based PC? I have seen AMD version at Ubuntu website.

I have the following specification of my PC:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
Harddisk: 60 GB

Note: I am newbie in Ubuntu environment, so everything is new for me, specially Linux based architecture.

The amd64 version is what you need. It will work on both AMD and Intel machines.

That is a bit confusing for new users. The AMD64 is the 64 bit install for AMD or Intel CPU's, the i386 is the 32 bit install. A quote from a releases page

Desktop image

The desktop image allows you to try Ubuntu without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. You will need at least 384MiB of RAM to install from this image.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop image
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the i386 images instead. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
32-bit PC (i386) desktop image
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors.

EDIT: beat to it

For that system, Ubuntu may be a bit much. It needs a good video card/chip.
Try Lubuntu or Xubuntu flavors.
