Upgraded 14.04 LTS server to 16.04 LTS server. Then, out of ignorance, installed Unity8 (note: unity8-mir was the only install available). Got nothing (ignorance again), so installed ubuntu-desktop. After reboot, it clearly opened a desktop with a login screen. Logged in. Screen went dark. I'm new enough to this that I have no clue how to diagnose the situation. TIA for hints. -- Jack
