Update to 16.10 fails

I'm trying to update my lubuntu installation from 16.04 to 16.10.

I looked at the release notes (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/#Upgrading_from_last_release) but update manager GUI and do-release-upgrade seem to have no effect.

Anything else I could check?
