View Full Version : [ubuntu] Features not available after switching desktops

Hallo Everyone,

I installed Lubuntu (14.04) for a friend but find out that he prefers "Unity" (standard Ubuntu desktop). That was (of course) no problem as I could install Unity with Synaptic and then select the other desktop at log-in. So far so good.

Almost everything works in each of the two environments but we have found a couple of issues which are irritating: It turns out that the touchpad scrolls fine under Lubuntu but under Ubuntu both the scroll-bar (on the right) and the option to two-finger scroll are disabled. We then tried to look at "System/Desktop Settings" but received an error message saying that this needed to be "activated". I fished around in Synaptic but it all seemed OK and desktop settings should be automatically installed (it was/is available under Lubuntu).

Does anyone have any ideas for me here?

Many thanks,
Alan
