I erased Ubuntu 16.04.1 and installed Ubuntu 16.10 on my Dell Inspiron 7559 laptop. It used to work fine, but now, after booting to the login screen, after I enter in my password and press enter, the login box goes away and all I see is the background and my mouse cursor which is movable. However, it doesn't load the desktop, and no keys or clicking the mouse has any effect. If I select the Unity 8 option for logging in, the computer freezes after I hit enter.
