View Full Version : [ubuntu] 16.10 Yackety Yak - after grub image won't boot

I can get to the grub boot menu but after that the image loads from the usb drive and then hangs. For the first time I actually gave Canonical $10US for the privilege of downloading their product and then find out it doesn't work. That won't happen again.

Same issue with me trying to boot Lubuntu 16.10. I get grub menu then select try Lubuntu and the system won't boot.

Just so you know I figured out why mine would not boot. It has to do with the 4.8 kernel and my system. I used UEFI on my system and for some odd reason that kernel will not boot on my laptop if I use UEFI. Once I switched it to BIOS mode Lubuntu and the 4.8 kernel booted just fine.
