I have a toshiba laptop 64bit with dual boot windows 8.1 and Ubuntu 13.10
I can no longer update or upgrade from the software updater, I know I'm a bit behind.
My boot loader is not working correctly, and I have to push F12 at start up to get the boot load options and choose HDD and then I can choose between windows boot or ubuntu boot. Either one works fine.
So, I made a live usb of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (which I successfully installed on my desktop)
I then boot up on the USB and get the initial menu to install, try etc...
No matter what option I choose I get the Kernel panic unable to mount the FS error.
I can load that while pressing C to get to the grub> menu
What are my next steps?
Thanks,
D
