Hi,

Basicly in the title i have outlined my Processor: Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2370 @ 1.73GH.

My question is should i install the amd64 iso or should i go with 32bit version of LUBUNTU 16.04

Note that the processor is 64bit by nature.

Thank you,
Dimitar

Hello!

The term "amd64" is a historical convention only - AMD was the first to bring 64 bit hardware and the instruction set to the consumer market. The name stuck. If you have 64 bit hardware, use the amd64 image.

Cheers!

That now is an older CPU, what are rest of specs.
If you have 2GB or RAM or more then 64 bit still best, but if not then 32bit may be better.
Also is only gpu the internal one?
Then Lubuntu or Xubuntu may be better as Ubuntu with Unity needs better graphics chip/card.

I did install 12.04 Ubuntu on my 2006 laptop with 1.5GB of RAM. I used 64 bit as my other systems were all 64 bit. But Unity was so slow as to be unusable, so I install fallback which you can install. On my new systems I use fallback. But you can install Mate and get similar results, also.
