Solved it, it was my display. It didn't like my tv, works fine with an actual monitor.

Hi all. I just installed Ubuntu server 16.04 on a new machine and after hours of RAID issues it worked. But now It seems to not be booting properly. The system comes online and does a POST as well as initialization of the RAID, but after that I get nothing and the screen show "Invalid Format". I'm not seeing it pop up on my network either so I don't believe that it is booting at all. The drive the OS is on seems to be idle as well indicating nothing is happening. After installation I restarted the system and it booted fine and I was given a login prompt, but after a second reset I'm not getting anything. Anyone have any ideas? The system is a custom system built on a Supermicro X8DT3 with onboard VGA.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

As an update, I installed a graphics card and everything works ok with the graphics card, but not integrated graphics. Is this a hardware issue?
