Hi all,

I don't need any help, this is just a rant...

I've been using Ubuntu for a year or so. There were problems, but most of them I was able to figure out. Today I decided to upgrade my 14.04 to 16.04. I went to the appropriate menu etc and for the 1000000th time Ubuntu asked me for my password (despite me turning on the Autologin feature). I thought, you know, this is enough! I need to figure this one out. I went online trying to find how to disable this "feature". There were a number of solutions offered by various smart individuals. I tried all of them. The result is that now Ubuntu is still asking me for my password very often, but now I don't know what my password is. Apparently, I changed it to something else without realizing it.

This is the last message I am typing using Ubuntu. Back to finding a Linux that works...

Sounds to me like a user error not an Ubuntu error.
Easiest solution would have been disable autologin.
A manual login also unlocks the login keyring used for saved browser passwords.
