Adobe dropped linux support for Adobe Reader some time ago, so unlikely you'll get Adobe Reader working and if you did it would be an old version.

Probably better to look at some native pdf readers.

Do you have problems with the pdf readers available in Ubuntu?

There are several options, some more able than others depending on what it is that you need from your reader software.

Funny, I just happened to check this post, but I did not get email notification. Anyway I am dual booting windows 10 and ubuntu 16.04. In windows I use adobe reader, will the files I have saved be compatible with document viewer.

Most likely they will be, but sounds like it couldn't be easier for you to try it seeing as you have Ubuntu installed - so use Evince (Document Viewer) which is included in a default Ubuntu installation to test your files out.
