View Full Version : [SOLVED] after 16.04 upgrade, su does not accept my password.

I just noticed that my password fails for su. Before the upgrade, the password that I use at startup was also used for su (automatically, not by my action) . The password still works, but fails for su.

How can I establish a password that su will accept without jeopardiizing my ability to startup the computer?

The password that you use at startup would have been used automatically for sudo, not for su

Thank you. I was just doing a cut-and-paste install and apparently I turned off my brain.
