Just done a clean install of Ubuntu 16.04 on one of my machines (it was still running 32bit!) and installed Dropbox. I've got the icon OK in the top panel, and I can launch Nautilus and see Dropbox folder in the right-hand pane, but not as a link in the left hand pane, and sometimes I need to use it there. I know there's a way to add it, but I can't find that info.

TIA

Are you asking about bookmarking the Dropbox folder ?

Open the Dropbox folder in Files (Nautilus) and select "Bookmark this Location" from the Bookmark menu.

It was greyed out - I forgot I had to open the folder rather than just selecting it! Thanks for that.

Cool, you're welcome :)
