I installed Ubuntu server 16.04 and got it working fine. Have tried a couple of drive clone/imaging software (Clonezilla, Terabyte) to clone and image the drive with Ubuntu server installed, and rather than imaging just the 30GB or so with data, the programs clone/image the entire 500GB drive. This has not been my normal experience, and I am wondering if it has to do with the ZFS file system that Ubuntu 16.04 uses and the software being unable to detect it correctly.

Do I need to used a different setup when installing Ubuntu server, or is there a clone/imaging available that can read the ZFS filesystem (assuming this is the issue) and not attempt to clone/image the entire drive and create a bootable clone?
