Here's the breakdown:
I have a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop running Windows 10. I am new to Ubuntu and I wanted to install it for possible school use. I successfully did an installation of Ubuntu 16.04 alongside Windows 10 through my USB stick. When I first booted up the GNU GRUB, it worked fine and I was able to select my OS easily. Recently, when the GRUB was booted up, I was taken to the minimal BASH-like terminal (black screen), rendering my computer unable to log into Ubuntu at all. When I enter "exit" into BASH, it does take me to Windows 10, so at least I can still access my computer.
I've looked up several solutions, but they could not fix the problem. I even tried the boot disk repair method, but it did not fix the problem. I know that it's a boot manager issue, but I just don't know how to fix it, mainly because I cannot log into Ubuntu.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
