I have one programme known as 'Xournal'. The files created by this programme are saved with an extension .xoj
The problem is none of the theme installed in my machine pick the default icons for .xoj file from /usr/share/xournal/pixmaps.
I really appreciate any help.

So the problem here is how to associate a particular icon with a given file type. It has come up a couple of times in the past, and requires some study to accomplish.

A thread where this subject was discussed in May 2015:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2278819

The reference article for the method:

http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/23776/how-to-change-a-file-type-icon-in-xfce-thunar

It would think it will be the same with other file managers, not just Thunar.
