View Full Version : HP6000 laptop: mounting error

June 19th, 2016, 11:10 AM
My problem is much simpler...but as a novice, I do not know how to proceed and U1 search led me to this conversation.

When I boot my aged HP6000 laptop, I get the message: An error has occurred while mounting /mnt/ata slintype DVD A D58AZH S to skip or M for Manual repair."

I am running U ver 14.04 and very happy with it...much better than Win Vista which I dual to to, but am phasing it out now that I have Crossover. What I originally wanted to do was install CorelDraw8 which I bought years ago in my XP days and used to create a business card for my new business...and merely wanted to PRINT OUT!!

So if you can help me solve this problem or steer me to an answer in the absolute myriad of topics on this forum, I would be grateful. My son who turned me onto Linux has decided I need to find answers myself, so here I am....barefoot and bashful.
