View Full Version : [SOLVED] Konsole drag&drop fails if no write permissions on the shell's cwd

Trying to get various KDE apps working in XFCE / Xubuntu 16.04. Dragging & dropping a file or directory from the file manager into Konsole does not do anything unless I have write permissions on the shell working directory. Doesn't seem to matter which file manager I'm dragging from (tested Dolphin, Konqueror, & Thunar all with same results).
Since the only drag&drop functionality I care about here is pasting the full path of the item into the terminal, how to get it working regardless of shell's cwd?

Update: I gave up on fixing this. I asked about alternative terminal emulators here (https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2332449) and found QTerminal, which works for me and does not have this problem.
