I am curious to what size of paper your office typically prints on?

Which one is A4?

Yep, you need non-American sizes like A4 as well. This is an international forum after all.

Why does this matter?

My office uses A4 size, almost everywhere in my country A4 is preferable.

Thanks for this Thread on commonly-needed papers by size. I am currently sizing up expendables requirements for Hewlett-Packard® large-format models as potential replacements for a Photosmart™ 1115 - I need up to 13x19 for music sheet (single sheets are 9-1/2" x 13"), and the 1115 supports up to 8.5"x14" of any weight in the lower tray, HP 4"x6" matte or gloss photo in the upper. First choice is the OfficeJet® 7110, second the OJ 7612, on account of the music requirement, as both can handle up to 13"x19".

We now live in a digital age. I recall when Dept of Defence introduced desktop computers for everyone (including Generals) one of the selling points was "we'll save a fortune in paper". Yeah, right, that happened.

On point, I have an A4 printer gathering dust.

A4. Standard. Strange question. Office stationary tends to be uniform across business here. Not sure what the environment is like in other countries but can't imagine it's any different. A3, A4, A5 ... normal.

What size does your office normally use, if you work in one?

The sizes you have used mean nothing to me. Inches?

A4, of course.
My home printer can also print A3. I guess we print several thousand A4 prints for every A3 print.

Although I've always been a yards, feet and inches person I'm finding that I'm becoming increasingly metric. :)

Whenever I print anything I just decide between A3 or A4 as I have literally no knowledge of the actual dimensions of those internationally recognised paper sizes.

Metric office paper sizes start down from A0, 0.841 x 1.189 m (2'9.1" x 3'10.8"), per ISO 216-2007. Size A4, the closest international size to U. S. Letter, is 0.210 x 0.297 m (8.27" x 11.7"); Size A3, the closest to U. S. Ledger, 0.297 x 0.420 m (11.7" x 16.55").

Not my office, but the printing shop I visited yesterday told me that their main printer handles A4 and A3 paper.

They also have a printer that will do up to A0 and larger. The paper comes on a roll, so it's possible to print banners up to 3 metres long.
