Google Chrome has announced that they will no longer give support on my machine so I am converting to Firefox. Unfortunately I cannot log into flickr it will not accept my login. I have tried flickr help but they seem to lose interest if the OS is not iOS or Windows.

Give Slimjet a try.

Slimjet is an alternative Web browser built on the same platform as Google Chrome.

Can you pose a question here for possible solutions people are using: Maybe the forum will be more responsive than the help feature.

There were addons in Firefox for flickr although, I saw at least two references to them working on Firefox 35 which is no longer supported.

Google Chrome is indeed being abandoned for 32-bit machines, but is still being developed for 64-bit machines. You might try Opera.

I don't see a problem here. If isn't as if there aren't a whole plethora of 32 bit browsers available.

for the most part almost all systems made in the past 10 years should be 64bit ready, just cause you are using 32bit does not mean you cant use 64bit
anything newer than a pentium 4 should be 64bit ready, there may be some exceptions with some intel atom chips

I am sorry to be so slow in replying but pressure of work you know. The problem isn't finding an alternative to Chrome it is finding one which will let me log on to flickr which is the problem. It is a a 64 bit machine but the ageing brain cells blundered during installation. Anyway I have installed Slimjet which has let me log on to flickr so all is well. One strange thing is that I subscribe to a number of horticultural Youtube channels and it is necessary to download them in order to watch them. That is just a small thing though.

Thank you all for your help.

I'm not sure about Flickr - I don't use it but sometimes I need to restart Firefox in safe mode for pages to work as they should. I'm not sure about the security implications of that but for this one install I don't do anything on it that is personally identifiable.
