I'm installing Ubuntu 16.04 with a fresh disc I just downloaded. When I choose to encrypt the disk from the install menu and then let Ubuntu choose all the defaults afterward, the installation seems to go fine but fails on first boot with the error: no such partition. I then get a grub rescue prompt.

Any ideas out there?

Is hardware UEFI or BIOS.
Did you install in same boot mode as default boot from system? Or change boot to match?

May be best to see details:

This computer is circa 2011. I think BIOS... Should I do something different on install as a result now? I've never had this problem on other computers, but this is the first time I've tried to do a clean install of 16.04.

BTW: this is a system 76 rig.
