View Full Version : 14.04 -> 16.04 upgrade problem (drivers?)

I have upgraded to 16.04 from 14.04, and the result has been quite messy.

First on boot I get an "Enter Auth Username" screen, which might be related (or not) to some OpenVPN bug.
Then I get
/dev/sda1: recovering journal
/dev/sda1: clean, something/something files, something/something blocks

And it just hangs there.

What can I do?

More info: I can get into the terminal now, but when I try to use apt-get it gives:

apt-get: relocation error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libapt.pkg.so.5.0: symbol [bunch of characters] version GLIBCXX_3.4.21 not defined in file libstdc++.so.6 with time reference

PLEASE, any ideas?
