I searched it on Google, tried everything but still its there. :(

Here is the translate: Go to System>Software & Updates>Change the "Download From" section to "Main Server" then it works. Thanks again for everyone.

I installed Synaptic package manager within the first 30 minutes of a fresh 16.04 install. After that I used Synaptic to install VLC with no dependency problems. I have no idea why apt-get install would not work where Synaptic would in my case.....but it might be worth a go to try it this way.
