I rarely watch tech videos on Youtube, but got to thinking that my TV was probably one of the last (if not the last) CRT-based TVs sold by one of my local retailers. There's something about the older technology that isn't easily matched by newer gadgets.

Certain pieces are repairable and most components are still available on the internet. I was a bench tech for the early days of vacuum tubes and transistors into the digital age.

Some of the new plasma TVs are repairable as far as recapping them but I sure wouldn't put a lot of money into them as most are just cheap and disposable.

Yeah I really enjoy working on the old vacuum tube table radios from the good old days of Radio & Television.

After years in IT, watching myself messing something up is infinitely funnier than watching someone else try and fix it.
