I am respectfully applying for Ubuntu Membership.

My wiki page is at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DuckHook

My Launchpad page is at: https://launchpad.net/~duckhook

I have been an active member of Ubuntu Forums for 5 years and try to help new users with advice, references and encouragement whenever I can. Although just a general user, I like to delve into the inner workings of Linux and Ubuntu, and try to pass on whatever knowledge I have learned. I hope that my perspective as a non-technical user allows me to identify with new users and help them through empathy, understanding and a layman's approach to problem-solving.

I have been using Linux for 20 years, more or less, but have been using it exclusively since my retirement 7 years ago. It is now the only OS in my household, except for a few curiosity OSes running in VMs that are almost never used. I use most of the 'buntu flavours and some other distros too, but my distro of choice is Ubuntu. I have helped a number of people in person with their physical installs and I habitually rehabilitate old computers with various 'buntu distros to do my part in reducing e-waste.

Thank you kindly for considering my membership application.

I think you will automatically become Ubuntu members, since you are already moderators. At least it was like that, when I became a moderator :-P
